6-14-06 Addressing the new GOP Iraq War Campaign Strategy |
|
Firstly, three wholehearted cheers to our brave and courageous fighting men and women in uniform for taking out that scum of the earth Ayman al-Zawahri. In my personal opinion two five hundred pound bombs and fifty-two minutes of suffering was not enough to bring balance to the universe for the atrocities he committed; such as cutting off the heads of Americans. Placing ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ aside for a moment, we should have cut off this penis and shoved it down his throat for the malevolent carnage he caused. However, the new GPO Campaign Strategy is to manipulate his death for their own personal gain; as they declare “if we pulled out of Iraq when Democrats wanted to, Zawahri would still be alive” and to portray battle hardened and highly decorated combat veterans, such as Congressman Murtha and Senator Kerry as halfhearted, feeble and ineffectual. The actual truth of the matter is… if the Bush Administration hadn’t, at the very least, exaggerated claims of Weapons of Mass Destruction which lead us into this quagmire; over two thousand five hundred American service men would still be alive. If the Bush Administration hadn’t continuously implied a link between September eleventh and Iraq… over ten thousand American service men would still have their arms and legs. If the Bush Administration hadn’t planted stories in the New York Times, through Judith Miller, making claims of ‘germs’ and ‘we can’t let the smoking gun become a mushroom cloud’ the American people would never have supported going to War in Iraq, the United Nations would not have been marginalized and our image as a great nation around the world would not have been tarnished. If the Bush Administration didn’t loose focus on Afghanistan... Osama Bin Laden would be decomposing six feet under or left rotting in a jail cell, Saddam Hussein would still be contained or possibly overthrown in Iraq but, either way, he would have remained absolutely no threat to the United States and Ayman al-Zawahri would have never joined Al-Qaeda and he would have never metastasized into the inhuman monster he became. Honestly, instead of attacking combat veterans for the having the audacity to place the letter ‘D’ beside their name, while simultaneously proclaiming that only Republicans support the troops; why not question the lack of outrage that our fighting men and women are on their third, fourth, and in some cases fifth tours of duty in Iraq? Why not question just when will the Republican controlled Congress complete the second part of the September Eleventh Commission; which was to look into how Iraq pre-war intelligence was handled? Then lastly, why doesn’t the GOP concentrate on a specific exit strategy for our troops in Iraq as opposed to concentrating on a strategy to demonize the Democratic Party? The bottom line is this… the Democratic Party as a whole supports our troops… the Neo-Conservative leadership of the Republican Party, and their followers in the House and Senate, support the War. |
